Rising Through the Burg: Fitchburg, MA Artist Q-Furb

In the heart of North Central Massachusetts, one name is gaining traction in Fitchburg’s hip-hop and arts circles: Q-Furb. He is an artist that is dedicated to putting on for where he is from and is firmly involved in his community. We had a chance to ask Q -Furb some questions, these are the questions and answers below.
How did growing up in Fitchburg influence your music and style?
A: I grew up in Dorchester migrated to central mass early 2000s .. grew up to the Edo G , Dre Robinson , Team 220 Frank Wainwright , Wally sparks, & usual suspects
When did you first realize you wanted to pursue music seriously?
A: 2005 when i started working with a group called The Camp who was signed by commonwealth records at the time they put me on there album and I don’t know once i seen people who I was close to have a deal it lit a spark and I ain’t turned back yet
Who were your biggest musical influences starting out?
How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?
A: Authentic Artistry , raw rugged sharp, it’s finally cutting through to the people I feel
Is there a song in your catalog that feels most personal to you? Why?
A: I feel all my songs are personal but i would have to say my feature with Big O from Worcester song called “Damn” and that song kind of set the tone for me in the Worcester county area and central mass
What do you want listeners to take away from your music?
A: I want my listeners to get a experience and I want them to see themselves in me
Do you feel a responsibility to represent your city and community through your music?
A: Of course community is everything . Music just a stepping stone and a tool for self therapy , the cities and communities we live in is always the responsibility to put the city on the back through music and through hands on work for community .
What’s Next for Q-Furb?
A: Networking and grinding . Got a lot of features to do and an album to finish. Trying to work on a tour by summer of 2026 . Got some big shows coming up that yall will hear about soon I don’t wanna spill the beans yet lol.
