Rhode Island's Hip-Hop & Content Scene Is Heating Up This Summer Written by Joel FBaby

Updated: Aug 3

The Rhode Island hip-hop and content creator scene is definitely heating up this summer, and there's been no shortage of big moments.

One of the biggest stories right now is the ongoing tension between Jduce and Kold Kash.

Things have been brewing for a while, and we finally saw it play out on the Hate It or Love It Show, hosted by Dellz and The Biggest Hater.

I'm curious to see how this plays out.

Will the battle actually happen, or have things dragged on long enough that people don't even care to see it anymore?

Either way, it's definitely a conversation the Rhode Island hip-hop scene is watching.

If you haven't checked out the show yet, new episodes drop every Sunday, and they're definitely making a name for themselves in Rhode Island's content space.

On the music side, Rico Still Made It continues to stay busy, making appearances on podcast after podcast and expanding his reach outside of Rhode Island.

Shout out to Rico as he continues his journey.

Also, make sure y'all check out his new album, W.T.K.B.M. (What They Know Bout Me). Definitely give it a listen and show some love.

Another moment that brought the Rhode Island music scene together was Griselda Banks' feature challenge for "Red Nose."

The challenge had artists from all over the state dropping their verses and showing what they had.

After the votes were counted, Mikey Moolah came out on top, taking home the win and the cash prize.

Shout out to Griselda Banks for putting it together,  Mikey Moolah on the win, and everyone who participated and helped make it a dope moment for the Rhode Island music scene.

Another move worth watching is Andrew Berrios signing Angel Mercedes.

It'll be exciting to see what they put together for the rest of the year.

Andrew is also expanding RI Studio, adding podcast production and more creative opportunities.

He's also launched his own show, Domino's with Berrios. Episode 1 featuring Mula Monopoly and Dee Bradford is already out, so make sure you give it a watch.

On the content side, Smoke and Politics has been consistently dropping quality street vlogs and interviews, keeping the community fed with authentic Rhode Island content. Stay tuned because there's definitely more on the way.

In local politics, Mayor Brett Smiley and David Morales, who is running for mayor, recently went head-to-head in a debate.

Now the question is: Who do you think came out on top, and more importantly, who do you think can really get the job done and bring Rhode Island the leadership the community needs?

With all that being said, it's exciting to see so many people making moves in Rhode Island.

Whether it's music, content creation, or politics, everybody is putting in work, and it'll be interesting to see what the rest of the year has in store.

Rhode Island has a lot of talent across the board, and it's good to see artists, creators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders all making noise in their own way.

Let's keep supporting each other and continue pushing the culture forward.
